Bags of coins, stamps worth about $3,000 stolen from Campbell residence

Aug. 5

VEHICLE THEFT: 700 block of West Hacienda Avenue. A Ford E250 Van was stolen from in front of a residence sometime overnight.

OBTAINING MONEY BY FALSE PRETENSES: 700 block of Cambrian Drive. Someone charged about $20 to the victim’s bank account in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

GRAND THEFT: 400 block of Richlee Drive. The catalytic converter was stolen from a 2004 Tundra.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: Payne Avenue and South Winchester Boulevard.  A man was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen out of San Jose. He was placed under arrest, and the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

GRAND THEFT: 1500 block of West Campbell Avenue. Someone stole approximately $1,000 worth of makeup products from a business.

PETTY THEFT: 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A woman and a man entered the business together and took merchandise without making any attempt to pay for it as they fled the store. They were located a short distance from the business. The woman was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

EXHIBITING A DEADLY WEAPON: 300 block of Union Avenue. During a verbal argument over their dogs, the suspect challenged the victim to a fight then retrieved a sheathed machete from his vehicle and brandished it at the victim.

Aug. 7

DUI: Hamilton Avenue and San Tomas Aquino Road. A man was driving a vehicle with flattened tire. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

CORPORAL INJURY: 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue. A man argued with the victim over his keys. He pushed opened the front door, causing the victim to fall to the ground and kicked the victim in the left ankle, causing swelling and discoloration.

Aug. 8

ORGANIZED RETAIL THEFT: 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A woman entered a business with another suspect, who then fled with $1,000 worth of clothing. The woman was out on bail for a prior felony.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, PARAPHERNALIA: Chapman Drive and Theresa Avenue. An officer observed a male and a female sleeping with their heads down in a vehicle and conducted a welfare check. The woman possessed drug paraphernalia and narcotics, and the man had two active warrants.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 00 block of West Hamilton Avenue.  A man was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was unable to care for himself.

DUI: Kamson Way and Dunster Drive. A man was driving at a slow rate of speed. He was pulled over and displayed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.

MAIL THEFT, VANDALISM: 000 block of Hollis Avenue. Officers responded to a report of mailboxes being tampered with. Forced entry was made to the rear of the mailboxes, and unknown quantities of mail were stolen.

Aug. 9

UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Fewtrell Drive and South Bascom Avenue. A man was taking off his clothes and yelling. He was found to be under the influence of narcotics.

VEHICLE THEFT: 1200 block of White Oaks Road. A man failed to return his U-Haul. He told U-Haul staff that someone else had the vehicle.

EVADING A PEACE OFFICER: Almarida Drive and East Hamilton Avenue. A driver failed to yield during a traffic enforcement stop. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed through heavy traffic in a white Lincoln Town Car.

VANDALISM, MAIL THEFT: 200 block of Hollis Avenue. Officers responded to a report of mailboxes being tampered with. Forced was entry made to the rear of the mailboxes, and unknown quantities of mail were stolen.

Aug. 10

BURGLARY: 100 block of Curtner Avenue. Two victims they had approximately two large bags of coins and stamps worth about $3,000 stolen from their unit.

Aug. 11

VEHICLE THEFT: 600 block of Inwood Drive. A Chevrolet Silverado was stolen.

BURGLARY: 100 block of Curtner Avenue. Someone entered a business through the roof and stole items, including two shotguns and two rifles. The same locker was broken into the night before.

DUI: East Hamilton Avenue and Creekside Way. A man was observed speeding and swerving within his lane.  He displayed objective symptoms of intoxication, refused to perform sobriety field tests and was arrested.
