SAN JOSE — The San Jose Fire Department fought two residential structure fires on Monday, according to the department.
The first fire was on the 3900 block of Senter Road, SJFD officials said. The call came into fire dispatch at 12:20 p.m. and crews had the flames under control 30 minutes later. There were no injuries reported, but five residents were displaced and the Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance for them, officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and there is not yet a damage estimate.
The second blaze was on the 1400 block of Peaceful Glen Court and was called in around 1:05 p.m., fire officials said. The blaze was upgraded to a second alarm at 1:12 p.m.

The fire began in the garage of one building before spreading to a neighboring structure, officials said. Firefighters knocked both fires down at about 2:00 p.m.
Both burned homes are uninhabitable due to significant fire damage, officials said, displacing between six and eight residents.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the blaze is also currently under investigation, according to SJFD.
