Saratoga venue moves Earth Day celebration to avoid April showers

After a rain was forecast on the original April 22 date, Montalvo Arts Center moved its Earth Day celebration to Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The event will feature food trucks, art installations and workshops like button-making and painting. The event is free to the public, and organizers are asking attendees to RSVP to Eventbrite.com.

Parking is not available onsite. Attendees can park for free at West Valley College and use a free shuttle from the campus parking lot to get to Montalvo.

‘Something Rotten’ at SHS

Tickets for Saratoga High School’s spring musical, “Something Rotten!” are now on sale for shows April 26-May 4.

The musical, organized in conjunction with Saratoga High School and Saratoga Theater Arts, is a comedy about two playwright brothers seeking to compete with William Shakespeare.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and children through April 20, after which the price will go up to $25 and $10, respectively. Visit SaratogaTheatreArts.org to buy tickets.

Booster breakfast

Saratoga Music Boosters are holding their annual pancake breakfast Sunday, May 5. Besides pancakes, the fundraiser features music with band, orchestra, jazz, percussion, color guard, and choral performances by the students of Saratoga High School and Redwood Middle School. A raffle and a silent auction are also part of the event.
