September in Los Gatos is full of music, art and movies

It’s been a summer of great music in Los Gatos. Jazz on the Plazz and Music in the Park have brought many visitors to town, including VIPs from around the valley. Saratoga City Councilwoman Kookie Fitzsimmons attended a recent concert. “Jazz on the Plazz is so much fun. It’s a perfect way to spend a summer night!” she said.

Jazz on the Plazz wrapped its summer concert series on Aug. 21, but series organizers Los Gatos Music and Arts are planning a gala fundraiser for Sept. 22, with headliner Gunhild Carling set to blow multiple horns. https://jazzontheplazz.com

Patti van der Burg is hosting a garden party benefiting Peninsula Food Runners Sept. 8, 5-8 p.m., at her Los Gatos home. Food Runners use a large army of volunteers to recover food from grocery stores, corporate cafeterias and caterers, which they then deliver to homeless shelters and others in need throughout Santa Clara County. Tickets are $100 and are on sale until Sept. 2. It should be a worthy event, with live music from Lavender Fields, gourmet catering, fine wine and beer, and a silent auction and raffle. www.peninsulafoodrunners.org/garden-party-event
