Officers found empty alcohol bottles in the vehicle, and the CHP said that the wreck likely was caused by driving under the influence. The driver was a 39-year-old Stockton man whom authorities did not identify early Tuesday.

The crash happened about 10:25 p.m. on Foothill Road near state Highway 84. The driver was unresponsive when officers arrived.

The driver also was not seat-belted, according to the CHP.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

The CHP is still investigating and welcomed any information. Those who may have seen something were urged to call the CHP’s Dublin office at 925-828-0466.
