Pedestrian dead in San Jose after collision on U.S.-101

SAN JOSE — A pedestrian died early Thursday after being hit by a big rig, the California Highway Patrol said.

Driver in wrong-way crash that killed San Jose mother and son booked on murder charges

The collision happened about 4:30 a.m. on northbound highway U.S.-101 at the Story Road exit, according to the agency. The pedestrian died at the scene.

Authorities did not identify the person immediately.

The big rig stopped after the collision, and the driver spoke with the CHP.

In the aftermath, the far three left lanes of the highway were closed until about 6:30 a.m.
