Catalytic convertor thieves shoot at Campbell resident

April 8

SEXUAL BATTERY: 2:45 p.m. at Los Gatos Creek Trail and San Tomas Expressway. A man rode his black bicycle past the victim and slapped her butt.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 2:16 p.m. in the 24000 block of Winchester Boulevard. A man was seen stumbling away from an incident. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself.

CHILD ABUSE, INTENT TO TERRORIZE: in the 700 block of Nido Drive. A man punched the victim several times and kicked them once over the course of several hours, causing visible injury. He fled the scene but was located in a nearby business and arrested.

PETTY THEFT: 5:45 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Someone entered a store, took five pairs of shoes valued at approximately $500 then fled out the back emergency door.

GRAND THEFT: 5:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. Someone stole approximately $1,000 worth of items.

VEHICLE THEFT: 12:59 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man reported that his vehicle was stolen from a parking lot sometime overnight. San Jose police recovered the vehicle at a sideshow and towed it.

April 9

ROBBERY: 2:49 p.m. at Wilton and Nido drives. The victim was walking down the street and was approached by someone who stole his wallet containing about $900.

PETTY THEFT, OBSTRUCTING PEACE OFFICER: in the 2400 block of Winchester Boulevard. A man stole merchandise and fled without paying. He remained in the area and attempted to flee when officers arrived to place him under arrest. He was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and refused to identify himself.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 6 p.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue. Officers contacted a man who smelled of alcoholic beverage and had bloodshot watery eyes. He was unable to answer basic questions or perform an influence evaluation due to his intoxication. He became argumentative and was booked into jail.

April 10

BURGLARY: 3 a.m. in the 900 block of W Hamilton Avenue. Three suspects forced entry into a business, gained entry to the safe and stole several items of jewelry.

POSSESSION OF SWITCHBLADE, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, PARAPHERNALIA: 1:58 a.m. in the Almarida Drive and David Avenue. A man was contacted for a vehicle code violation and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and an illegal switchblade.

CAUSING FIRE: 6:15 a.m. in the 800 block of West Hamilton Avenue. A man used an incendiary device to start a fire damaging property.

GRAND THEFT: 8 p.m. in the 300 block of East Campbell Avenue. A green BeeCool eBike valued at $1,800 was stolen.

POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 5:15 p.m. at East Hamilton and South Bascom avenues. A man was contacted in regards to a welfare check. He was in possession of paraphernalia, and fentanyl was located in his vehicle.

April 11

UNDER INFLUENCE, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 2:13 a.m. at Rosemary Lane and South Winchester Boulevard. A man was reported sitting in the roadway smoking something out of a pipe. He was contacted, and a glass pipe and methamphetamine were located on him. He was also found to be under the influence of a stimulant.

April 12

DUI, CHILD ABUSE: 4:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man drove into the drive-thru lane and passed out. He had his 1-year-old daughter in the vehicle with him. He was contacted and found to be DUI.

CORPORAL INJURY: 11:43 a.m. in the 700 block of West Valley Drive. The suspect became angry with their spouse and assaulted her, causing visible injuries on her left arm. The suspect previously assaulted her, causing bruising on her right buttock.

PETTY THEFT: 9:03 a.m. in the 00 block of W Hamilton Avenue. A man reportedly stole sunglasses from a wheelchair. The victim valued her sunglasses at $20 and desired prosecution. The man was later contacted and was not in possession of the victim’s sunglasses.

RECKLESS DRIVING WITH INJURY: 10:47 p.m. in the 1700 block of S Winchester Boulevard. A motorist was driving recklessly and collided with a building. A passenger was injured. The driver tried to conceal evidence and was found in possession of marijuana for sales.

PETTY THEFT: 7:55 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. Someone entered a business stole approximately $25 from the tip jar.

ROBBERY, WILLFUL DISCHARGE OF FIREARM: 3:07 a.m. in the 2300 block of Winchester Boulevard. Someone shot the victim with a BB gun and struck them in the nose, then stole their cell phone and wallet.

DUI WITH PRIOR CONVICTIONS: 1:30 a.m. at E Hamilton Avenue and Creekside Way. A man was stopped for a vehicle code violation. He displayed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was found to be DUI.

April 14

BURGLARY: 4:55 a.m. in the 2000 block of South Bascom Avenue. Two suspects gained entry to a business by ramming the front of the business with a vehicle. The suspects were interrupted by responding officers and fled the area in two Dodge Challengers displaying no plates.

ATTEMPTED MURDER, GRAND THEFT: 2:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Springfield Drive. Two suspects were stealing the catalytic convertor from the victim’s car. The victim came out of the residence and confronted them. One suspect shot three times, missing the victim, before fleeing with the other suspect in a newer-model white sedan.

April 15

MARIJUANA POSSESSION: 1:35 a.m. at Highway 17 and East Hamilton Avenue. A man was stopped for a vehicle code violation and found to be in possession of marijuana and driving without a license.
