Saratoga History Museum hosts blacksmith demonstration

Striking the Iron

The Saratoga History Museum will be “Striking the Iron” on Oct. 20 with a live blacksmith demonstration and a question-and-answer period.

From 1 to 4 p.m., visitors to the museum can witness three blacksmiths at work who will answer questions about their trade. The museum’s 1850s pioneer cottage, the McWilliams House, will also be open, and costumed docents will give tours of the space.

Health fair

The Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council will host its annual health fair at the Joan Pisani Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a free lunch, health screenings and resource tables, in addition to bingo at 3 p.m. Early arrivals can join a seminar on artificial intelligence at 9 a.m..
