Crews are at the scene of a brush fire near a ranch in the east foothills of San Jose on Monday morning.
The fire was reported about 10:40 a.m. in the 4100 block of Sierra Road, near the Prevost Ranch and Gardens and the Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve.
The San Jose Fire Department posted shortly after 11 a.m. on social media that crews were encountering light flashy fuels making good progress on the blaze.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

No other information was immediately available.
Meanwhile, forecasters with the National Weather Service say there’s a slight chance of light rain mid-week. By the weekend, though, offshore winds could elevate fire danger across the region.
