Boichik Bagels, hailed by the New York Times as some of the finest New York-style bagels in the nation, are now available in Los Gatos.
Ten months after expanding to the South Bay for the first time, founder Emily Winston has opened a location in the Village Square / Trader Joe’s shopping center.
From 7 a.m. daily, the shop offers 15 types of bagels — most popular are the Everything, Eggything, Pumperthingle and Pumper Raisin Swirl — and unusual cream cheese flavors such as Hatch Chile, Horseradish Cheddar and the fall/winter creation, Honey-Date Tahini with a touch of sumac. Boichik also sells smoked salmon and house-made whitefish salad and makes sandwich combos.
Los Gatos is the ninth location in the Bay Area. Prior to this shop, Boichik expanded to Santa Clara’s northern tech corridor and San Francisco’s Financial District.
And the Berkeley bagel entrepreneur is still on a roll. Winston told the Bay Area News Group this week that Los Angeles is next. “Los Feliz, hopefully mid-December or January,” she said. “And a second spot downtown in the Bradbury building.”
