Officers were dispatched to Henry Street and Berkeley Way around 2:30 p.m. for reports of multiple gunshots and a person with a firearm, according to Berkeley police Officer Byron White. They arrived to find bullet casings but no victim or suspect.
Moments later, a person arrived at Highland Hospital in Oakland with a gunshot wound, White said. The injury was not life-threatening.
“BPD officers contacted this individual,” White said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
“Further updates will be provided as they become available,” he said.
White said there did not appear to be any immediate threat to community members in the area.
