Adam Hazel has resigned as Christopher’s football coach after just one season in charge of the Gilroy public school.
Hazel will become an assistant under longtime coach Mike Gemo at Live Oak, where Hazel is a teacher and was an assistant in 2022 and 2023.
He told the Bay Area News Group that coaching at the same place he teaches will be better for himself and his family.
“I wish all the best to CHS, the kids, faculty/staff, admin, parents and the community are amazing,” Hazel told this news organization in a text on Wednesday. “I’d like to thank all of them for the wonderful season we had.”
Christopher went 9-2 and reached the Central Coast Section Division II playoffs after winning the Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division championship.
