OAKLAND — A 28-year-old man was fatally shot in East Oakland Saturday night, authorities said.

His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family. Police have not yet said where he lived.

The shooting happened about 7:10 p.m. Saturday outside  in the 8400 block of International Boulevard.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A motive for the killing has not been released.  No arrests have been announced and no suspect information has been released.

The killing is the ninth homicide investigated by Oakland police this year.  Last year at this time police had investigated  7 homicides in the city.
