This definitely looks like one of the best concert bills for spring 2025

Simple Minds are embarking on their biggest North American tour in four decades.

And they are bringing along some very cool company for the ride.

Simple Minds will be accompanied on this road show by fellow ’80s new wave/modern rock champs Soft Cell and Modern English.

The trek hits the Bay Area on May 20 for a show at Toyota Pavilion at Concord. There is also a SoCal date on May 22 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood.

Simple Minds tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Jan. 31, www.simpleminds.com/tour. There is artist presale that begins at 10 a.m. Jan. 29 and a local presale that starts at 10 a.m. Jan. 30.

“Been a while but absence makes the heart grow fonder,” says Simple Minds’ Jim Kerr. “Simple Minds are ecstatic at the prospect of touring so extensively in the US and Canada this coming Spring.”

The tour marks the 40th anniversary of Simple Minds’ biggest year — 1985 — which saw them top the charts with the “Breakfast Club” smash “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” release the hit album “Once Upon a Time” and perform in front of tens of thousands of fans (as well as millions of TV viewers) during the landmark Live Aid concerts.

A digital version of a new 9-track edition of “Once Upon a Time” — with the addition of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” — is now available to stream/download (https://simpleminds.ffm.to/onceuponatime), with physical versions set to follow later in the year.

Simple Minds will also be performing “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Jan. 29.
