How to watch the Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco

Capping off two weeks of lunar new year celebrations for the Year of the Snake is the popular Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco’s historic Chinatown. It is the largest parade outside of Asia, and one of the very few night illuminated parades in North America.

The route begins at Second and Market Streets, circles Union Square and ends at Kearny Street and Columbus Ave. There will be floats, dancing lions, firecrackers and a 288-foot long Golden Dragon. If you want to avoid the crowds, the parade will be televised:

When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 5 p.m. PT

TV: The parade will air on ABC. In the Bay Area, tune in to KGO-TV (channel 7) with an antenna or a cable TV provider.

Stream: ABC7 streaming platforms including ABC News Live.
