Officers responded to the school about 11:50 a.m. after being told between 50-to-100 students were gathered around watching the fight in the student union. Campos said that before they arrived, one of the students lost consciousness but had regained his full awareness and function.

That student and another one went by ambulance to a hospital to be evaluated and treated for their injuries. Campos said the injuries did not appear to be serious ones.

Police have not determined what caused the fight.

Officers placed the high school under a lockdown in the aftermath as a precautionary measure “to ensure the safety of all students,” Campos said.

Police are looking for information, including video footage of the incident. They encouraged anyone who wants to help to contact them at 925-833-6670.
