Milpitas Holi Festival brings color to Cardoza Park

Cardoza Park is the site of this year’s Holi Festival, set for Saturday, March 8, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Residents are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring with vibrant colors, a wide array of live music, dance entertainment and traditional Indian food.

Entertainment includes Aki Kumar Blues, Tamas Band and Nrityami Kathak Dance Academy. Colors will be available for purchase on site. No outside colors will be allowed into the park. This is a family event, so no alcohol, drugs or smoking.

Microenterprise grants

The City of Milpitas is taking applications for its Microenterprise Assistance Program, allocating $200,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to provide up to 40 microenterprises with $5,000 each.

Priority will be given to eligible commercial and home-based daycare operators that apply. The application period closes on Friday, March 14, at 6 p.m.

Milpitas launched the program in 2020. In 2024 the program provided CDBG-funded grants of $2,000 to 25 eligible microenterprises totaling $50,000.

Eligible uses of grant funding include rent and mortgage, operating expenses, payroll, utility payments, supplies and equipment. For full eligibility requirements and to apply, visit forwardplatform.com.
