The Tasting House Los Gatos has some tasty new items, including spicy Korean fried chicken and the hot ham and cheese on levain with apple chutney and pub cheese created by Chef Julian Silvera, along with seasoned fries and lemon aioli. Sip on France’s finest in the newly remodeled Champagne Bar, or outdoors on the patio parklet, where the amazing Curtis Cooke, despite a fractured collarbone and right wrist in a cast, is serving up some gorgeous grower-producer Champagnes. Broma Chefs Jarad Gallagher and Aubree Arndt have added Day Boat scallop crudo with leche de tigre zested up by Serrano chile; a smoked Iberico pork risotto with piquillo pepper purée and mezcal-infused aquerello rice; and a tableside presentation of King Calamari Barbacoa, grilled to perfection with aromatics and spice. Broma is located in the Shashi Hotel in Mountain View.
Zaytinya, an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant by James Beard Award-winning Chef José Andrés, and Dumpling Time, an Asian-inspired eatery, are set to open at Stanford Shopping Center in the second quarter of 2025.
Burger Week Santa Cruz
More than 30 restaurants in Santa Cruz County, from Scotts Valley to Soquel, are taking part in Burger Week through March 9, with offerings priced at $12, $15 or $18.

VinoCruz in Soquel has two tempting creations: The Bistro’s Best Burger with mushroom, bacon, arugula, smoked Swiss, tomato truffle oil and red pepper aioli; and the Vino burger, lavished with bacon, gem lettuce, griddled onion and white cheddar deluxe sauce on brioche.
At Back 9 at Pasatiempo, grab the Outlaw burger basted with a house-made whiskey glaze, topped with pepper Jack and seasoned onion rings on ciabatta, or the flame-broiled cheddar and serrano chile burger on egg bun.
Among the offerings at Heavenly Roadside Café in Scotts Valley is Ruby’s Devilish Delight, with grilled jalapeño and chipotle mayo.
The French Dip burger at Belly Goat Burgers in Abbott Square is a killer deal for a beef patty with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and onion hay, plus house-made horseradish aioli on a brioche bun, with a side of au jus.
Seafood lovers will want to hook up with the fish burger from Hook +Line in downtown Santa Cruz, delicately battered and fried sole fresh from Ocean 2 Table, topped with tartar, fermented hot sauce and house pickles.
