GIRLS DIVISION I
No. 2 St. Francis 2, No. 6 Amador Valley 0
St. Francis, the No. 1 team in the Bay Area News Group top 10, is once again playing for a championship.
The Lancers, who won the CCS Division I title last Friday, shut out Amador at home to advance to the NorCal D-I title game. Brooklyn O’Brien (PK, 35’) and Penelope Correa Mason (46’) handled the scoring.
They will face a familiar foe in No. 2 Archbishop Mitty, which beat No. 3 Bishop O’Dowd in penalty kicks to reach the championship matchup.
It will be the fourth time the Monarchs and Lancers have faced off this year. The Lancers have the overall advantage, having lost the first match 1-0, won the second 4-0 and won the CCS title matchup 1-0.
St. Francis’ 4-0 victory was contested at the Lancers’ home in Mountain View, where this latest title tilt between the two South Bay titans will be played at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
BOYS DIVISION III
No. 2 Hillsdale 2, No. 3 Granada 0
Hillsdale, the high seed playing at home, earned a shutout win to reach the D-III title game.
Carson Levy and Nisith Andrabadu scored goals for the Fighting Knights, and Tyler Hughes assisted on both.
Hillsdale (21-1-2) will travel to San Anselmo to face top seed Archie Williams in the championship match.
GIRLS DIVISION III
No. 4 Maria Carrillo 1, No. 1 Menlo School 1 (MC wins PKs 3-0)
Menlo’s remarkable season came to an end with a loss to Maria Carrillo at home.
The Knights fell down early but equalized right before the half on a goal by freshman Amelia Warman, who was assisted by senior Alyssa McAdams and junior Ella Skinner.
It was Menlo’s first appearance in a NorCal semifinal. The Knights finish the year with a record of 17-5-3.
BOYS DIVISION IV
No. 1 Gonzales 2, No. 5 Milpitas 0
Milpitas’ season came to an end with a shutout loss to Gonzales at Rabobank Stadium in Salinas. The Trojans finish the year with a record of 12-4-7.
GIRLS DIVISION IV
No. 3 Sacred Heart Prep 3, No. 2 Soquel 0
The Gators went on the road to claim an impressive win over Soquel on Thursday.
Lauryn Masetti got the scoring started bright and early in the second minute with an assist from Averie Sui. Lauren Bassett (40’) padded the lead just before half off an assist from Leah Lynch. Camy Sheldon added an insurance goal in the 69th minute thanks to an assist from Lewa White.
SHP (13-7-3) will travel to face Fresno Christian for the D-IV title on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Fresno.
BOYS DIVISION V
No. 5 Piedmont 2, No. 8 Colusa 0
The five-seed is going to the NorCal Division V final.
The Highlanders got an unexpected home game in Oakland and took full advantage, winning in a shutout.
Piedmont (12-9-4) will get another to boot in the championship round against Williams, the No. 7 seed in the bracket. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. in Oakland on Saturday.
