DUBLIN – A magnitude 4.0 earthquake rattled the East Bay on Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 7:46 p.m. about 2.9 miles west of Dublin and at a depth of aboutb 6.8 miles, the USGS reported.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The USGS said the earthquake was felt as far away as Half Moon Bay, Concord and San Francisco.
